The Corning Cable Systems UniCam® MTP® Connector is the first field-installable 12-fiber connector in the industry and utilizes the same reliable, proven no-epoxy/no-polish technology as all other UniCam Connectors. The high-density termination replaces 12 single-fiber connectors and is the ideal solution for applications using 12-fiber ribbons. Designed for parallel optical interconnects between servers and the repair of Plug & Play™ Universal Systems solutions trunk cables, the UniCam MTP Connector installs with the same push-pull reliability as the familiar SC connector. Installation is quick and easy; a jacketed or 12-fiber ribbon can be terminated in less than five minutes.
The MTP Connector has color coded single-mode, 50 μm and 62.5 μm multimode housings and color shrouds are available. It is keyed for proper insertion and alignment is achieved with precision guide pins. Every UniCam MTP Connector meets the IEEE-802.3 standard for Ethernet-based LANs and is guaranteed to meet the published specification at the time of installation, or Corning Cable Systems will replace it.
