Description

FXN Rope - Automatic Fire Safety Solution for Enclosures

The FXN Rope series offers an innovative, cost-effective fire suppression solution tailored for electrical enclosures of various sizes. Utilizing advanced nanotechnology, the FXN Rope combines the components of traditional systems into a single product—agent storage, detection, and discharge—ensuring total suppression. Each FXN Rope activates automatically at 428°F (220°C) when exposed to heat, suppressing early-stage fires instantly with an eco-friendly, residue-free clean agent. Designed for reliability and requiring no maintenance, this solution is ideal for protecting high-risk environments containing valuable equipment.

How It Works

1. Localized Activation: When a section of the FXN Rope reaches 428°F (220°C), the microcapsules in that area release a clean, non-residue fire-suppressing agent. This agent rapidly vaporizes, absorbing heat and effectively extinguishing the fire without leaving residue or causing damage.

2. Thermal Propagation: The FXN Rope also contains potassium nitrate, which, upon activation, decomposes exothermically, generating additional heat. This heat propagates along the rope, triggering adjacent microcapsules to release their fire-suppressing agent, ensuring comprehensive suppression throughout the enclosure.

This combination of localized activation and thermal propagation ensures rapid and effective fire suppression, providing reliable protection for critical environments.

FXN Rope Installation Instructions

1. Safety Precautions

  • Ensure the electrical enclosure is completely safe to access, and the electrical power is disconnected before installation.
  • Avoid placing the FXN Rope on a hot surface or in an environment where the ambient temperature exceeds 428°F ± 9°F (220°C ± 5°C).
  • Handle the FXN Rope with care—do not crush, kink, or cut the rope.
  • Wear fireproof gloves when handling the rope to prevent accidental injuries.

2. Preparation

  • Ensure the surface inside the enclosure is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, contaminants, or lubricants.
  • Use a lint-free cloth to wipe the surface thoroughly.

3. Mounting Hook Installation

  • Peel off the protective paper from the adhesive side of the mounting hooks.
  • Press the mounting hooks firmly onto the cleaned surface, ensuring there are no gaps and full adhesion is achieved.
  • Maintain a spacing of 6 inches (150mm) between each hook for optimal support.

4. Rope Positioning

  • Roll the flat tab of the mounting hooks into a semi-circle to match the rope diameter.
  • Position the FXN Rope horizontally above potential ignition sources for quicker response time.
  • Secure the rope to the mounting hooks using cable ties, ensuring the ties are snug but not overly tight to avoid deforming the rope.

5. Final Steps

  • Trim any excess length of the cable ties using appropriate cutting tools.
  • Inspect the installation for proper alignment and secure fastening.
  • Label the installation date and 5-year shelf life (expiration) on the enclosure in a visible location.

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect the FXN Rope and mounting hooks for signs of wear or damage.
  • Replace the FXN Rope every 5 years or immediately after activation.
